Hi everyone,
I'm having a little issue here.

When I try to make a push with RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().push(channel, msg), the RequestContext.getCurrentInstance() returns null.

I read a post where optimus says that RequestContext is available to ajax requests only.

My question is, Can I make a push using something else, because I need to make it from a non ajax call.

thanks !

Hi everyone, I don't wanna bother anymore with this topic, I just wanna ask if someone can provide me some links where I could resolve this myself.
I understand push technology, but I don't know where to read about how primefaces implements it, so I can't find an answer for my question.
I suppose cannot be done without an ajax call because nobody answered me, but I would be very gratefully if anyone could guide my with some links where I can understand the whole thing.

thank you very much

New PrimePush supports pushing from GET, POST, JMS, ajax, non-ajax and wherever you can.

Brand new PrimePush powered by Atmosphere will be available in 3.4 which is due in 2-3 weeks. Atmosphere's creator Jeanfrancois Arcand was our guest for a week in Istanbul and he has architectured and implemented the new PrimePush with Atmosphere. We will do an official announcement next week.
