Hello!
I use Websphere Application Server (JEE6, Java 6) for my Primefaces/Atmosphere application. I want to upgrade to Primefaces 5.3, that's why I've to update the atmosphere-runtime jar. But version 2.4.0 has a higher class level, because it's compiled with Java 1.7. So it is impossible to run PF 5.3 on Websphere 8.
How can I solve the problem?
Is there a atmosphere-runtime jar compiled with JDK6 available?
@optimus.prime: I hope Primefaces keeps supporting JDK 6?
Thanks for your help!
Christoph
Atmosphere 2.4.0 uses JDK7

Hi,
maybe you should ask directly on the atmosphere mailing list.
Currently we don't have any plans to migrate to Java7 but remember that many libs don't support Java6 anymore (e.g. log4j) because Java6 support/updates has been cancelled 2013.

We also use WebSphere 8, but (IBM) JDK 7 is SUPPORTED on WebSphere 8 as well ( at least for WebSphere 8.5.x )
It is not installed by default, but IBM provides a special bundle with the IBM JDK 7 ( just search for it in IBM site )
In other words... PF 5.3 CAN RUN in WebSphere 8 ( I tested it myself !!)

Upgrading the jdk is no option, so I'm searching for a compatible Atmosphere build (2.4.0) compiled with JDK6.
Does anybody know something about the official Atmosphere compatibility? If 2.4.0 is based on JDK 7, this means, that PF 5.3 also has this requirement.
Best regards,
Christoph
