appendTo on Sidebar

I have a vue component where I want my Sidebar to be docked to my component (and not the body). Although dialog boxes have an appendTo property, the Sidebar is lacking this and creates the sidebar docked to the body of the html and not a customized div. How can this be corrected?

Sidebar appends to body by default.
