I was wondering if the p:tabslider component can support orientations like the tabview. I just want to have the tabs on top instead of on the bottom.

I guess what I would really like is just a tabView with more transition effects, like a slide effect. It would be nice to specify in and out transition for the data when you switch tabs. Then you wouldn't really need the tabslider component.

One more thing: using a dynamic, non-cached tree in an ajax, non-cached tabview makes the tree disappear when you switch tabs. This happens everytime you switch tabs and go back to the tab with the tree. The fileupload's "browse" button also disappears. Thus it seems the problem is with tabview. In the non-cached ajax mode, I just want the tab to be completely reloaded everytime I switch tabs. I don't expect the user to switch tabs too often, so this is not a performance issue.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, this sounds like a good idea for a future release.
Regarding ajax tabview, there's a little bug that will be fixed soon about ajax tabview so I guess it'll fix these issues.

Has this bug been fixed yet? I have confirmed that it is still present in the latest nightly build.

No it's not can you create a ticket for this in our issue tracker, it hasn't been logged yet. It's not hard to fix by the way, probably state sync issue.
