datatable : filter with dropdown

Hi,
just started to use primeFaces and I am trying out dataTable. Looks like filters are not rendered when table is scrollable.
From previous topics I understand there is work going in that area, so this might be fixed soon ?

Are there any plans to provide filter not only with an input field but also with a dropdown ( usefull when the column contains only few distinct values) ?

Yes, filters are being enhanced nowadays, I've faced with an issue when placing a dropdown instead of an input text filter, it's still being worked on targeting upcoming release.
