Is it possible to have a type parameter for inputText so you can specify the type is a number? Would help on touchscreen phones to only display the number keypad instead of the whole alphanumeric keypad.

Thanks.

I think you can perform this with Masked Imput or Keyboard components
Eclipse Helios 3.6 | Glassfish 3.1 | PrimeFaces 2.2.1

Not sure that works the input type is still text when using masked input. I think it needs to be type="number" for the mobile browser to bring up its numeric keypad. (keypad components is not the same as the phone's native keypad).

Hi Optimus...
Any chance you can add type attribute to support HTML 5 features? Should be a minor change and will help mobile users a lot.
