SelectOneMenu not working in IE8

Hi,

I'm using a selectOneMenu in my application. Firefox or Chrome don't have a problem with this component, but IE does.
IE just stops rendering the page as soon as the selectOneMenu is processed.

Following javascript error is given:
Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
Line: 0
Sign: 0
Code: 0

IE version is 8.0.6.

Any ideas?

I have exactely the version reported in the issue and that works great... might be a Windows version related issue and not IE related
