p:tabView is inserting its id into clientID of form elements

In the process of making my p:message tags to work, I discovered that target elements had the p:tabView's id inserted as a term in their client IDs.

So I have an h:form id="aaa" that surrounds an h:tabView id="bbb" elements each having some form elements with id="xxx". The end clientID becomes "aaa:bbb:xxx". The id of the p:tab elements don't come into it.

This seems to have changed with M3. Is this an intended change and is this the way we should count on it behaving in the future?
