Did this idea ever get any traction?

I to support the idea, as I also have to jump through hoops to get our "official" maven build system to use Primefaces.

If Oleg is volunteering to maintain the sync between the latest release versions and Central repo, I don't see why the boss man would have an objection. If nothing else, it could introduce Primefaces to more potential users.

Regards,

-Derek

Hi Derek,

Of course I can do that. It's not a problem for me. But I can't do that without permisson from "boss". If Cagatay will say "it's okey", I could keep PrimeFaces in sync with Maven central.

Give me some time to think, I'm extremely busy with trainings these day. Thanks for all the feedback!

Bumping the topic. Earlier in this thread, Cagatay requested feedback from the community, so here is my 2 cents. I work for a fairly large bank in the US, and they host an internal Nexus proxy to the central repository and other more 'popular' repositories. This is our 'official' way to access maven artifacts; all other access to maven repositories is 'officially' blocked. The process of requesting new repositories to be added to our proxy requires the legal and security departments, and just alot of red tape.

For the 2 years that I have been using PrimeFaces, I have had to use alternative methods to bring in the PF artifacts for the builds; methods that I would rather not discuss in a public forum.

I completely understand the time issues that you have; I think adding PF to the central repo would entice developers in larger corporations to use it. Also, now that PrimeTek has hired some more help, the issue of time may not be as much of a factor. :D

Any movement adding Primefaces to Maven Central?

Our company just started using Sonatype's CLM (Component Lifecyle Management) product to manage our open source libraries. Right now, SonaType does not know anything about the Primefaces Libraries. CLM only "scores" artifact from Maven Central.

Thanks
