Dear PrimeFaces team,

I have worries about PrimeFaces. You said in the PF blog you intend to fix all issues for PF 3.0.RC1. But now I see and read that you intend to implement new components / new features (for enterprise users). We have so much bugs with reimplemented components at the moment - Spinner is buggy, Tree (drag-&-drop not working properly), Dialog was not tested in all browsers, etc. 2.2.1 seems to be much stable. I like PrimeFaces, but we will not use 3.0 until bugs exist. Some people have worries that new stuff bring many new issues. So, bugfixing is desired for 3.0.RC1.

Keep your great work up. Many thanks.

No kataras, PF is not working ONLY for enterprise users. Everything the do for enterprise users is available for normal non-paying (leaching?) users as well. But I do share Oleg's concerns that some components need more testing/bugfixing e.g. when they are used inside other components, or when they are nested. I unfortunately have no time currently to do anything with PF, even my test with JQMb3 must be postponed, so I have no right to (nor will I) complain since I have little to contribute (sorry optimus)

Every PF iteration is as follows;

- Planned new features first
- Maintenance Bug Fixes later

and

- Enterprise user requests merged in to the cycle. (Please note that every single issue of enterprise users are available to open source community as well, ent users just sponsor us to develop it and we share it with community, best of both worlds.)

M3 is a nice example, we had 140+ improvements and focused bug fixes for 2 weeks although M3 was a feature oriented release. I think we've done a good job and left some of the known issues for RC1.

RC1 on the other hand is a maintenance oriented release, we are just releasing the planned new features these days, maintenance has not begun yet. Also nowadays I myself had to deliver PrimeFaces trainings(now to a us company so I had to deal with 7 hour difference so work around 18h these days(as a result became sick will go to doctor tomorrow :) ), do consulting, work on enterprise along with other members of PrimeFaces team. Please understand the fact that, as there is no big vendor that sponsors the project, we as Prime Technology sponsor it ourselves by investing our time and financial resources which is via these commercial offerings that distract us time to time. So sorry if we can't join the discussions in the forum lately.

RC1 is due november, we'll go through every issue filed in tracker, try to fix if it is an important bug and schedule enhancement/feature-requests to 3.FUTURE.

Maybe RC1 should have been M4 then, since it is not usual to introduce new functionality in a release candidate, at least not in the projects I know, but that is just a detail. PF keeps getting better and better...
