executing p:autocompleteMethod with additional parameters

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to invoke the p:automcomplete completeMethod to include more parameters. What I would like is something like this:

<p:autocomplete completeMethod="{#mybackingBean.completeMethod(query,parameter1)}/>. Since I'm using the EL 2.2 capabilities of invoking methods with parameters this should be possible, but how could I get the query value that is excepted to be sent by the component, so that we can filter entries of the List?.
