Charts and jqPlot

Hi,

PF 3.0M4 uses jqPlot to render charts. After a quick watch on the homepage of jqPlot, I figured out that it has a huge set of features not covered by the charts components (e.g. date axis renderer). I just want to use charts for visualization of data, not to interact with them. Is it easily possible to create a custom PF component to create and show a jqPlot on client browser? Any pointers for how to start developing own PF components?
