Similar to datatable, I think, datalist too needs to implement facilities like lazyload and livescroll. Datalist is used to display things like search results, long lists or feeds, which definitely require live scroll feature. Of course, datatable can also be used instead of datalist(in order to support live scroll) but it wont make sense to unnecessarily put the data into tables rather than in div(s) or ul(s).
I personally feel that there is a strong need for these features to be supported by datalist.
