I tried to use the watermark component as described in the showcase, but even in this simple case it doesn't work for me. As it works in the showcase I assume this again has something to do with the fact that we use Primefaces in a portal environment as other components and functionality that work in the showcase, haven't worked in a portal (Liferay in our case) before.

The behavior we see is that the watermark doesn't show up in the input field we pointed it to and the browser signals a Javascript error.

We're working with Primefaces 3.1.1, but I also tried 3.2, but there too I get the same error. The error we see in the Chrome web inspector is the following:

Code: Select all

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'replace' of undefined
PrimeFaces.createWidgetpark:1
PrimeFaces.cwpark:1
(anonymous function)park:1
b.Callbacks.epark:16
b.Callbacks.bD.fireWithpark:16
bF.extend.readypark:16
