Hi,
we can enter the date from date picker(p:calendar) and at the same time manually from inputbox. I'am going to do validations when user enters manually without using P:calendar. I can see readOnlyInputText attribute from p:calendar but its not going to work for me and i can do both read and write at that time.
If readOnlyInputText="true" works smoothly then i don't need to use lot of validations for user manual Date entry.
Environment:
Primefaces 3.3
WAS7.0
JSF2.0
Thanks
P:calendar date validations

Won't comment about 3.3 because I haven't used it yet and it is still prerelease but I would suggest you use the calender in inline mode and avoid the pain called textbox date entry entirely.
PF 4.x (Elite versions), PF 5, Pf 5.1, PF 6.0
Glassfish 4.1, Mojarra 2.x, Java 8, Payara 4.1.1.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I don't think this issue of readOnlyInputText="true" with the prerelease of PF 3.3(But surely i will try with PF3.2 once ) and i shouldn't use mode="inline" because of space constraint.I need to prevent manullay entry of date and i got the following link regarding this issue.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/103 ... rimefaces
As per the comments from that link pattern="...." showing the difference. If readOnlyInputText ="true" works then problem will solve
Environment
PF3.3

JSF2.0
