CommandButton ActionListener Not fireing

wow, that actually made it work! I cant believe thats what it was. I was under the impression that it not being labeled "required=true" would allow the action to occur regardless of being populated with data. But now im confused. It wasnt a required field... is the default required=true? Is this just a special thing for calender?

Either way, thx for pointing this out. At least it tells me why I wasnt getting the functionality I expected. I guess it can just be assumed that calender has required=true as default.
