and here is what's new in NetBeans 7.4
Looks also great.

By the way, I don't know if you know, but you can switch IntelliJ into Eclipse mode and work like in Eclipse http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display ... ility+Mode It will generate e.g. .classpath and .project files, use the same key combinations, Eclipse incremental compiler, etc.

What is the use of having .classPath files an .project files? I never even touch them in Eclipse, never ever. The maven plugin does all configuration for me. We never commit them to any vcs (boy I hate, hate, hate being forced to use M$ TFS by my employer... FOR TE WRONG REASONS).

Key combinations ok... But that is just a small part of how an IDE works...

Oh and for others 'wresteling' with Eclipse, look at the functionality of the JBoss Tools set of plugins (or even the more fully integrated JBoss developer suite... It is great...

I think eclipse should be more used as it has huge user base plus it's free. With Jboss Tools plugin it's makes developer life lot easier.

There is a nice video here how to work with Contracts and Flows in JSF 2.2 with the brand new IntelliJ 13 http://blog.jetbrains.com/idea/2013/12/ ... j-idea-13/ Don't know if we can work in a similar manner in Eclipse.

M$ TFS is a nightmare I agree however not using any form of VCS is dangerous and is a hindrance to supporting the software being produced.
TFS is better than nothing and there are worse VCS out there, M$ VSS being the standout candidate for horribleness.

:D :D :D Hmmmm no, we only do not commit .classpath, .project and.settings to a vcs. For the rest we committed everything to svn previously and now tfs. I'm not opposed to a vcs, not at all. I just hope they quickly update TFS to the 2012 version with included GIT, but since they recently upgraded to TFS2010, I have my doubts it will happencanytime soon.

Hello,
I use eclipse. The community of this IDE is wide and there are thousands of plugins that serve your needs according to the work life. Netbeans editor is better than eclipse and more clear and simple.
