It seems there is a problem putting a <p:dialog> component in to a facelets template client; it never shows up on dialog.show(). It only works as expected if the <p:dialog> is in the facelets template. Is this a known issue?

The dialog example in showcase are also in a facelet template so can't figure out why it doesn't work for you. Example;

It turned out that the issue is related to <p:layout>. <ui:insert> for a dialog component can't be inside the <p:layout> tag of the facelets template.
