Hi,
Will the new DataTable that's coming with version 2.2 be based on an existing grid/table such as a jQuery plugin or will it be written from scratch? If it's based on an existing grid/table, can you tell us which one so that we can have a look at it?

New DataTable will be a homemade one just like dataGrid and dataList that is written from scratch as we have enough experiences on why a third-party javascript widget doesn't fit well to the JSF model. First we'll reimplement the current features for backward compatibility and then add scrollable datatable, resizable columns, enhanced lazy loading, nested headers, editable rows and more.
We've completed the migration to standard JSF 2.0 ajax and resource apis so datatable work starts on monday. Hopefully in two weeks we'll have a datatable that is close to PrimeFaces standards since without the limitations of YUI grid, we can finally implement our ideas.
