(Left) Action Bar

Hi,

It might be a bit trivial but (if I can avoid re-inventing the wheel)any help is appreciated.

I would like to create the usual left hand side action bar, that will render JSF views on the right. The usual way that I would go to develop it would be with ui:composition/ui:define etc. That would I can have a css guy doing the surrounding templates and I can focus on the other stuff.

With primefaces, I checked layout but would complicate things.What would be the usual way that you would go about to create it?

My idea would be to create a panel in the template as body and 'update' from the menu. I am guessing though that this might complicate the managed beans in the nested views.

Any help, comments, component names or search engine keywords will be appreciated.
