bug: picklist controls not rendered properly inside wizard

So I have a picklist in the first tab of a wizard.
I have another combo box outside of the wizard, that uses ajax to update the picklist on change.
The picklist is updated properly, but once I go to the next tab in the wizard, and then click "back" (and it goes back to the tab containing the picklist), the picklist is not rendered properly. Specifically, the "Add/Remove Add All/Remove All" buttons are just plain, they loose the icons and or CSS properties.
