There was an enhancement Request that I remember seeing a while ago. Don't think it has made it to any release yet. More people ask/vote for it, it might get ahead of the queue.

Hi,

In fact there are many good standalone tools which allow to create a Gantt diagram and convert it as HTML file for web. I use e.g. this one http://www.ganttproject.biz/ I don't know whether we need a component for Gantt because it's an uncommon component.

We might have this in the future when jqPlot our new charting engine comes up with a gantt chart plugin.

Hi,
Is it possible to make a "generic" chart. that way, any person can derive. the chart (the basic one) may have the horizontal and vertical one, the legend and I don't know ... some thing that can be in a basic class.
The model must be something like a generic map (Map<T, T> as as model, or Map<Object, Object>).
At the end, a set of tools to render the map. say for example, a line, a rectangle, and an oval and may be a path (for more power). with all these tools the generic chart must be pretty powerful and pretty open witch is very important.
I am a good JSE and JavaFx developer, I just started with the web, and before picking primefaces, I made a comparison on the net, and finally primefaces deserve its name. The drawing must be in the server side, I really think its possible, but I have a small doubt, anyway, I hope its possible.
