Is it possible to make autoSubmenuDisplay work on hover but also have clicking work well . In the initial tests, people liked the hover but some would click causing the menu to pop right back down again.

I agree that allowing a user to click on a submenu label (without causing the menu to close) even if autoSubmenuDisplay is true would be a nice enhancement.

More generally, it would be nice if the menubar behaved exactly like Firefox's: the submenus don't display until you click and then once you've got one submenu open you can hover to open any other.

You can create an enhancement request here:

Thanks. I'm guessing that means I'm not missing anything by not being able to get it work. I guess clicking on the menus will have to do for now.

This change was made in 2.2.1 final. It is confusing to the user so I had to switch to autoSubmenDisplay="false" as well. The problem is the user does not know the menu is displayed on hover. If they click on the menu instead it will disappear. Click should have no effect when autoSubmitDisplay is set to true.
