export html table to excel

i want to export certain HTML table to an excel file. i saw that by using dataTable thats quite straightforward, yet i have some forms with images and certain alignment properties which should be saved in the excel file the same way they appear in the HTML page for further printing purposes.
I found that Myfaces library has a certain element <t:buffer> to save the HTML table but im a user of primefaces and i dont want to mix the interface with other libraries. now is there any way to do this in primefaces?
