One of my clients is moving from WAS 6.1 to WAS 7.0. I would like to recommend Prime faces 3.x for any new development. I would like to get some feedback from the community. I have been Prime Faces follower since its 1.x version, now I would like to Push PF3.x since they choose to move away from ibm jsf implementation.
I know that, technically, JSF 2.0 requires java 1.5 or later, JSP 2.1, JSTL 1.2 and a Java Servlet 2.5 implementation, they are supported by WAS 7.0
Based on Google search, I was not able to locate any official support announcements, except how to change default JSF Implementation (even they only explains about JSF1.2). I have found fix pack (myfaces http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... wg1PM40949) and forum discussions nothing ended any final answer as Yes or No.
I would like to ask the developers that do you have successful implementation of JSF 2.0 with WAS 7.0. If you are successful what type of JSF (Sun or MyFaces) and version has been used? Please also specify the Fixpack version of WAS 7 server.
Please let me know any deployment specific configurations like parent_last etc.
Successful Implementation of Prime faces 3.x in Websphere 7
We have a successful implementation running on Websphere 7.0.0.21 (not sure of the exact fixpack we're running in production). We're currently using MyFaces 2.1.5 and Primefaces 3.2.
PrimeFaces 3.2 | Websphere 7 | MyFaces 2.1.5 (JSF 2.1)
RAD 8.0.4.1 | JDK1.6
RAD 8.0.4.1 | JDK1.6
