Complex Datatable having treetable capability

I have a requirement where the datatable should have tree capability and I've notice you do have treetable component but not like the datatable. Some of the things would require in the treetable or the datatable are :
- highlight hovering instead of clicking the magnify glass
- in cell editing in the tree
- column search capabilities in the treetable

The only difference that i see between treetable and datatable is that one is a tree and the other is not. Both should have all the same features. Maybe just make one datatable component that has an option to make it as a tree.

Hi,

We have a project which faces the similar requirment, that is a updated TreeTable (or a new component providing current feature of both DataTable and TreeTable)

I found there isn't such a component yet in current release 2.2.1

I wonder whether such a component is in the next release's plan and what's the planned functionality? Otherwise we have to cumtomize by our own.

We'll rewrite the treeTable in upcoming 3.0. It'll be ajax based at least current one is client side only.

Personally, I think the current datatable can be changed to support tree like behaviour. The way openfaces does this with providing an attribute that should e usef to detect and/or count children...
