Charts.js v3.2.1 not working

Following the documentation on https://www.primefaces.org/primevue/showcase/#/chart the dependency on chart.js is just the last version

npm install chart.js --save

that installs last version 3.2.1 at the moment, but it doesn't work. It works with older version 2.X but is any prevision on updating to use v3?
