Using Fontawesome instead of primeicons

By looking at the source (e.g. for DropDown), the primeicons seem to be hardcoded in the components. But is there any way to use fontawesome icons instead (e.g. mapping pi-* to fontawesome icons)?

Passing icons class names to icon props worked for me, but not passing javascript objects from the fontawesome icon library.

Ah ok, thanks - makes sense. I will check how and where this approach can be used.

My complaint, particularly with Primevue menus is that they will not accept html in the labels so that prevents me from using Fontawesome in some of my menus. I ended up using a selector to replace the content after the menu was mounted
