Handling multiple uploads component questions

I have a component with multiple file upload components. Each one would be for a different file that I need uploaded. I know I can just use one component but I need to know which file is which on the backend. The way the component works right now is that you select the file and then if you click it again it will upload. My question is, what would be the best method to associate files with the components but only upload when the user clicks submit? How could I prevent the user being able to click the button a second time after the file selection thereby triggering the upload of that specific file?
