Datatable - Filter & Sort Row Edit - table data inconsistency

Currently I am working on a project for which I have selected PrimeVue as UI library. It went so far so good until now.

On the datatable component I have filter and sort active, and I am trying to enable a succesful row edit function - which does not seem to work. Cell editing (like in the example https://primevue.org/datatable/#cell_edit_filter_sort) seems to be working fine.

What happens is that after the @row-edit-save callback, the newData is added to the existing array data, even though the source array is in correct state. Is this a bug in the primevue datatable/sorting/fitlering in combination with the row edit function? If not: any pointers what might be the problem I am overlooking?
