Autocomplete: Allow for multiple items to be chosen without closing

Hello everybody,

I am currently trying to work on the functionality of an autocomplete element on a website.
As-is, the element proposes a choice of elements based on the entered text, but choosing one of those elements automatically closes the list, forcing you to enter the same text again in order to bring it back up.

My searches for ways to manipulate the component behaviour using some sort of javascript have so far been without success.

What options do I have?

I removed my finding from the post. The problem still persists with regular Primefaces 10.0.
