Funny that an enhancement request ended up the component being removed.

True enough As long as we're on the topic of licenses, a couple of other files are not Apache licensed. Not that they're necessarily bad, just different:

resources/primefaces/dock/assets The file IEPNGFIX.htc it is under the LGPL
resources/primefaces/password The file password.js is creative commons license
resources/primefaces/imagecompare the file imagecompare.js is under creative commons / no derivative works license.

Any concerns?

Well, who does need dock, password and imagecompare? They can be removed too. Joke.

Somebody has also integrated it with Google Maps/OpenLayers, etc. via Mapstraction to create a "TimeMap" (which could be another PrimeFaces widget)
