Hi Michael,
Optimus and UI components are two mutually exclusive different projects. Optimus orchestrates JSF-Guice-JPA stack and add capabilities like better dependency injection, aop support and jpa integration. So the answer would be no, optimus development will continue although it won't be fast paced like UI and TouchFaces since the main actor in PrimeFaces project family is the UI Components.
