Since PrimeFaces is based on JQPlot, could you clarify whether PrimeFaces maintains a fork of JQPlot to work with or does it use what is available in public domain (perhaps https://github.com/jqPlot/jqPlot ?). I am looking at the change log for JQPlot and oddly it doesn't show the release dates for JQPlot versions (http://www.jqplot.com/docs/files/changes-txt.html). The github repository for JQPlot doesn't seem to show much activity which makes us nervous in using the charting solution offered within PrimeFaces. Am I missing something?

Yep, jqPlot is not really active anymore and we don't maintain a own version of it. Not sure whats the best for PrimeFaces in the future.

In my applications i switched over to anychart, which also has much more features and provides a simple API via json.

In all of my projects I used HighCharts. To me it is the best and most supported charting library out there with incredible features.

We use PrimeFaces charts only when we are showing a simple chart like YES NO votes in a meeting but any complex charting we use HighCharts JS.

It looks like jqPlot has been looking for a maintainers with little success: https://github.com/jqPlot/jqPlot/issues/70
