So, I have a growl which in which all the extra whitespaces are removed. Is this default behavior of growl ? If it is is there any workaround? I'm using primefaces v6.0 with websphere 9.0

Yes spaces mean nothing in HTML they always get trimmed.

Try using the property escape="false" on the growl and then you can use   for your spaces.
