Hi,

According to https://github.com/primefaces/primeng/issues/3334 floating labels are available for dropdown. I update primeng and ultima theme to 4.2.1 release but it does not work yet.

I tried with <span class="md-inputfield"> and <span class="ui-float-label"> but neither of them works.

Does someone know how it works exactly for dropdowns?

Thanks,

Carlos

The documentation is here:
https://www.primefaces.org/primeng/#/inputtext

It worked when I tried it a few weeks back

AFAIK,it is available only for InputText component. The source code show that it applies only for InputText(InputText.css)

Ok, do you know if there is a plan to extend this feature to other components like dropdown, multiselect and calendar? It will improve user experience and will make components more congruents regarding its placesholders and labels behavior, at least in ultima theme that is based on google materials which all components has floating labels.

Thank you and sorry for my english.

We also purchased the Ultima theme because of the MD look and have been asking for consistency across all types of inputs (not just InputText) since February. So far we have not had much feedback from PrimeTek on when or if they will do this.

We are currently using a workaround which I have posted on the below link but would prefer the theme to deliver on it's promise as it's pretty disappointing in it's current state.
