The majority of the examples are using dynamic columns with no formatting, alignment or column sizing. Who does that in the real world? I would expect number columns with format pipes and with proper local alignment, columns with the proper sizing based on field size, etc.

I agree that the p-datatable has performance issues but Is this what we have to sacrifice to have a high performing table? Other grids are implementing rendering only within the viewable cells. Have the PrimeNG engineers explored that?

What exact issues you're having with formatting? You have full control over the representation.

I have no issues formatting. My point is that it seems like the examples are representing a lightweight implementation for "maybe" performance reasons but not representing how you would actually implement it in a production application.

I just went back to the example page they have for the deprecated p-datatable and found that they use the same type of presentation that they use for the turbo table. I would suggest that the examples show a better representation of how the table would be with a production application.

It's not clear what you're trying to achieve. Every application is different. You can post a sample of your app.

Hey Ctrl-C, I'm just venting. I think PrimeNG makes great components, just some of the demos could be better.

Thanks for listening.
