p-table frozen and scrollable columns are split

I'm trying to create a frozen column p-table. I've tried all the combinations in the examples (i.e. pTemplate="frozenHeader" and pTemplate="frozenBody") and without templates, but I still get the same split table:

What might be causing this anomaly?
