Calender Import Adds Spans To Buttons

When I import the CalendarModule to use the Calendar input, it adds spans to all the buttons in the view.

Any ideas why this is happening?

The problem seems to be only happening with the p-button element or attribute. Normal button elements (without p-button attributes) are unaffected.
