Hi!

I'm trying to see if it's feasible to migrate a current Sentinel based project to Atlas without too much effort.

I can see that both layouts use the ContainerX, WidX and Responsive CSS classes as the main "layout" elements. With this setup I'm thinking it shouldn't be too much work!

However I see the following:
1. In my Sentinel project I use the "ContainerIndent" class a lot. This class is not used in Atlas. Does this mean that I can just remove/replace all divs with ContainerIndent once I have converted to Atlas?
2. There is a lot of new features in the Atlas layout that I have not used before. Have I set my self up for a lot of work if I want to implement these on a Sentinel based project?

Any input on these questions would be highly appreciated! :) Perhaps I can write a small conversion/migration guide if I choose to do this!

Yes, all layouts share the ContainerX apis. core-layout evolves with new layouts.

1) ContainerIndent is removed in recent layouts, we've added padding to Container{Number} and also introduced NoIndent that removes any padding from an element as a helper. Also Card has padding so Atlas doesn't use ContainerIndent at all. Goal was to avoid extra markup.

To do a quick test, you can grab the source code of core-layout in Atlas;

http://www.primefaces.org/atlas/javax.f ... las-layout

And then paste it to your Sentinel based app to see if there are breaking changes.

2) Features such as?

Hi,

Sorry for the slow reply!

After careful consideration I opted to go for Spark instead and the migration from Sentinel is going great :-) I really like the thinking behind the core-layout as it is easy to understand and reuse in other themes/templates.

Regarding question 2 I was thinking about Flex containers. However I looked more into it and discovered that the only dependency there were 2 CSS classes. So I have snatched them from Atlas and they are working great in a Spark environment too! :D
