Doubt with web.xml tag project settings.

Hello,
I'm trying to run the tag folder project in Tomcat 8.5, but has not yet succeeded. I need to know: What it is for the following configuration and what happens if I remove?

<listener>
<listener-class>com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener</listener-class>
</listener>

in the web.xml file, because it is generating errors on the console. Thank you
