How to set value to autocomplete in typescript?

Hi,

I have autocomplete field, which gets value either from from autocomplete suggestions or (should) get programatically filled.

But (in typescript) this does not work:
...
this.form.get('autocompletefield').setValue(obj.value);
...

It is emptying the field.
