My project's layout is depending heavily on md-inputfield but it is removed from Ultima 10. A boxed input field will break the design and feel of the UI.
Is there any plan to port md-inputfield back to Ultima in the future version. Otherwise, we will get stuck at Ultima 9 or have to consider developing a custom component using cdk.
Could md-inputfield be ported back to Ultima in the future version ?

Hi,
Firstly, With PrimeNg 10 version, we switched to PrimeOne Vision concept. In this way, our themes have a more flexible structure.
For float label, please see our demo;
https://primefaces.org/primeng/showcase/#/floatlabel
You can use p-float-label class for it.
Best Regards,

In the past, the field has only an animated underline and not boxed.

Could primefaces kindly provide a compatible css style sheet.

Hi,
Unfortunately, this is not possible. But, firstly you can use p-input-filled class in div.layout-container element and then you can switch md-inputfield with p-float-label like in the above link.
Note: We always try to update our layouts according to the changes made by Material design. Material input elements have two modes; filled and outlined like https://material.io/components/text-fields
