Trigger Clear Calendar manually

Hi, is possible to tigger the clear of a calendar component manually?
If i set value = null the date still seeing on the input of the form.

Is this possible? Thanks

When do you think to clear date? Exp; after you click a button ??

I'm also wondering about this. I want to extend the component to display an X icon in the field when it has a value, where clicking on the icon will clear the field.

Doesn't giving a null to the bound value clear it?
