Sidebar Design and Behaviour - Question

Good afternoon,

I am trying to create a sidebar with the same behaviour as in Freya (shows icons when collapsed, pin option):

I need to do it for both PrimeFaces (Java) and PrimeReact (React). For now I am starting with the React version.

Is it possible to do that out of the box and by adjusting the component parameters/options in a simple way?
I am looking at the following PrimeReact components:

https://primefaces.org/primereact/showcase/#/panelmenu

Or does one need to customize the components and modify the source code?

I am not able to find examples / options in the documentation.
