We purchased and are using the 4.1 version of the PrimeReact Serenity layout, without problem. In the zip file i downloaded, there was a serenity folder and a serenity-typescript folder, each that had its own code tree. We used the serenity-typescript folder, which had a README.md file with plenty of details to get us started.

Today, I download 5.0.1 of this same layout and I'm finding that the serenity and serenity-typescript folders are gone, instead replaced with the kind of content that had been inside of those folders. There is a README.md file, but it contains only this:

Code: Select all

## Serenity React
I looked at the 5.0.0 download and it had the same problem. I'm also noticing that the size of the zip file has dropped a LOT:

Code: Select all

-rw-r--r--@ 1 user1 group1 83427401 Dec 3 08:20 serenity-react-4.1.0.zip
-rw-r--r--@ 1 user1 group1 52907045 Jan 20 16:11 serenity-react-5.0.0.zip
-rw-r--r--@ 1 user1 group1 53241784 Jan 20 10:27 serenity-react-5.0.1.zip
Are these downloads corrupted by any chance?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. Have you tried to use this sass command ?

Code: Select all

sass --watch public/assets:public/assets --no-source-map

I went back and looked at the README for the 4.1 version as a reference.

I realized the problem is that I hadn't done a "yarn install" before doing a "yarn start". It seems to be behaving better now.

This still doesn't explain why the README.md file for 5.1 is truncated. Something is wrong with that file. Also, it was a major change to go from two directory trees (non-TypeScript and Typescript versions in 4.1) to just one tree. Some explanation would have been good. Are you just providing the TypeScript version now?

Hi,

You can check the documentation from here http://primefaces.org/serenity-react/#/documentation
We're gonna provide TypeScript version for Serenity as soon as possible.

Best Regards.

This isn't really acceptable -- you ALREADY had a typescript version of PrimeReact serenity, in the 4.0.1 version, and that was why we purchased the product in the first place. Will you be putting out a 5.0.2 that has it? Why did it just disappear?

We've updated all templates from class-based components to functional components. We're also gonna do it for TypeScript version with 5.0.2.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response. You can download the new version that has TS support from store.

Thanks a lot for your understanding,
Best Regards,

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately I'm having problems with 6.0. I unzipped it and went to the serenity-react-ts subdirectory. From there I did a "yarn install" followed by an "yarn start." The console says it's started up without any problems, and gives me the URL to connect to.

But, when I connect, it doesn't render a page. Instead, I see a Serenity logo and then a bunch of raw content, completely unformatted. It's as if no styles are loading at all. Is there an undocumented step I'm missing?

Hi John,

Have you tried to run this sass command ?

Code: Select all

sass --watch public/assets:public/assets --no-source-map
Also you can check http://primefaces.org/serenity-react/#/documentation for any information that can help.

Why would that command be necessary? With version 4.0.1, i could unzip the file, cd into it, run "yarn install" followed by "yarn start" and the demo worked perfectly. Isn't that supposed to handle all the sass steps? I'm doing these exact steps with 6.0. I'd rather not need to do a separate installation of sass. It should just work within the project, as before.
